What are Carlo's Bakery e-commerce policies?
Carlo's Bakery takes enormous pride in every product we offer and strive to deliver them in the best possible condition on the requested delivery date.

While there are many things we do to mitigate the risk of shipping fresh and frozen food around the country, there are unfortunately some things outside of our control like the weather and transit delays once the package is in the hands of FedEx, UPS or USPS. As such, the shipping guidelines published on this website are not guarantees of a shipping or arrival date.

Carlo's Bakery is unable to guarantee time of delivery, as this is all subject to the local carrier. Most carriers will deliver packages anytime between 8am-11pm. If you are placing an order for a time-sensitive event, we recommend placing your order early and schedule it to arrive 1-2 days before your event. A majority of our products can be frozen or refrigerated upon arrival to preserve freshness. In some instances due to weather, high package volume (especially during holidays) or other uncontrollable events, we may have your product arrive earlier than requested to ensure that it arrives in good condition.

Carlo's Bakery is not responsible for delays in transit caused by high package volume, weather, mechanical error, strikes, natural disasters, terrorism safety control, local carrier mis-scans or inaccurate/incomplete shipping information, and we do not require a signature for the release of any shipment. Leaving a package at an address is ultimately up to the complete discretion of the individual delivery person and is therefore entirely outside our control.

Carlo's Bakery does not require a signature for the delivery of its packages.

Customers are responsible for checking that all shipping information is correct before submitting an order as well as in their order confirmation email. If you need to modify the delivery address once your order has shipped, a $19 address change processing fee will apply to your order. Once an address modification is requested, carriers require one business day to process the change, which may delay the package. Carlo's Bakery is not responsible for delays in transit caused by address modification.

Terms are subject to change by Carlo’s Bakery at any time. Carlo’s Bakery reserves the right to modify or cancel an Offer at any time. Void where restricted or prohibited by law. Carlo’s Bakery’s computer is the official date/time keeping device for all Offers. All Offers on BULK orders are restricted or prohibited.

Returns & Cancellations
Given the perishable nature of our items, All items on Carlosbakery.com are final sale. We are working diligently to provide expedited and fast processing therefore there are no returns, refunds or cancellations allowed on any orders that are in processing. For Cancellation Requests on Unshipped Orders we ask that you please provide the request at least 4 business days prior to the earliest estimated delivery date. We do our very best to accommodate requests, however, not all requests are guaranteed to be fulfilled. The sooner you get in touch, the better!

Cake Builder Items are Sold AS IS, with no refunds, cancellations, and/or modifications.

All packages are shipped via UPS or FedEx and therefore we cannot ship to P.O. Box addresses.

If an item arrives damaged or spoiled, our Customer Support team will work with you to determine an appropriate solution. Please reach out to our team using the HELP button on the bottom right corner of your screen, to resolve the issue within 7 days of delivery.

Order Change Requests
We are not able to make Product edits on orders, and our fulfillment center is not equipped to handle special requests. Everything ships as it was ordered.

If you would like to modify your Gift Message or Shipping Information, we ask that you please provide modifications at least 4 business days prior to your earliest estimated delivery date. We do our very best to accommodate requests, however, not all requests are guaranteed to be fulfilled. The sooner you get in touch, the better!

If you reach out with less than 4 business days until your earliest estimated delivery date, we unfortunately are much less likely to be able to make any changes. We appreciate your understanding!

Nationwide Shipping Coupons, Promotions, and Offers Policy
Our Nationwide Shipping Online Store allows for one coupon per order. Coupons cannot be combined with any other coupon. Free Shipping Coupons are not valid for Alaska, Hawaii, EXPEDITED SERVICE, and SATURDAY DELIVERY SERVICE unless otherwise indicated.

Voucher Coupons are one time use only, any remaining balance will be lost. Coupon balances cannot be applied towards shipping charges. These terms apply for all promotions, credits, and coupons for use on the Carlo's Bakery Nationwide Shipping website. To qualify for and receive any promotion and/or credit and/or coupon (collectively “Offer(s)”), customer must meet the requirements indicated, as applicable, in the Offer. Offers must be used when placing an order, but the Offer may not be applied if all conditions are not met after fulfillment of any order applying the Offer. Does Carlo's Bakery ship overseas?
At the moment, we ship to the domestic United States only. We cannot ship to PO Boxes. Unfortunately, at this time we do not ship to Puerto Rico.

How is my food packed and shipped?
Carlo's Bakery is handmade, packed and shipped specific to that items needs to ensure the freshest, most delicious food arrives at your door.

You can read the Instructions / Storage section on each product page to find out whether an item requires prep (i.e., ships frozen and/or defrosting process) or is ready to enjoy upon delivery. If you have additional questions about a specific product, just contact our Food Concierge team using the HELP button on the bottom right corner of your screen, our team is very familiar with the packaging practices of all Carlo's Bakery products.

We ship Nationwide and deliver five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday.

Weather Delay
We always encourage you to select a delivery date 1 to 2 days ahead of your celebration to ensure on-time arrival. Your order can be delivered anytime between 8AM and 11PM.

We are working diligently to do everything in our power and work very closely with our shipping partners to make sure your treats arrive on time. However, because of circumstances outside of our control like snow storms and carrier delays due to surging delivery volumes, we strongly advise scheduling your treats to be delivered 1 to 2 days ahead of your celebration. Our products can be stored in your refrigerator for up to 72 hours or 30-days in your freezer.

Our products ship with Dry Ice and may thaw in transit, please do not remove the dry ice with bare hands. Our products are best at room temperature.

In the event of a delivery delay past your estimated delivery timeframe for an order containing Dry Ice, please dispose of or refuse delivery, as it will no longer meet our standard of quality and freshness for your enjoyment.

Crumb Cakes, Butter Cookies, and Coffee ship at room temperature with NO dry ice. These products will be in great condition to enjoy!

Return Policy
Given the perishable nature of our items, All items on Carlosbakery.com are final sale. Shipping Delay
We do NOT offer refunds for delays caused by one of our shipping partners due to weather, mechanical error, strikes, natural disaster, inaccurate shipping information, mistakes on the part of our shipping partner’s, or similar reasons that are outside of our control. That said, we know how important it is for your package to be delivered on time and our Customer Support team will work with you to determine an appropriate solution. Mistakes happen, unfortunately any mistakes made during the ordering process by the customer resulting in a delay or non-delivery are not eligible for any refunds or reshipments. Please be sure to review the entered shipping address before submitting your order.

COVID-19 Shipping and Delay Updates

Local Store, Classes, and Consultations

Do I need to book a consultation?
If the cake you'd like purchase is similar to one of our cakes in our cake gallery you do not need to book a consultation. Please call us for more information at 201-448-8400 (prompt 1) during our business hours, Mon-Fri 9-5, or use our online form here.

If the cake you'd like to purchase requires special customization, please book a consultation. Please keep in mind that cakes by consultation must be ordered at least 2 weeks in advance.
What if I have food allergies?
The menu is listed online for each course. Carlo's Bakery is not a wheat, dairy, egg, soy, or nut-free environment. We cannot guarantee that there has not been any cross-contamination with these products, even if the item is not directly made with those ingredients. If a customer has a food allergy, we do not recommend consuming any products.
What if I need to cancel my reservation?
If you are unable to attend your class, you will be issued class credit that will only be applicable to Carlo's Bakery Classes. To request a Carlo's Bakery class credit, please respond to your confirmation email with "CLASS CREDIT" as the subject line. You will receive an email confirmation when your account is credited (within 2-4 business days). Carlo's Bakery does not issue refunds.
Will we be able to meet the cast of “Cake Boss”?
We cannot guarantee that the family members will be present for each class; however, all courses are taught by a team of highly qualified bakery/culinary professionals (who were trained by the Cake Boss himself!). Your instructors will be happy to assist you with any questions.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
Yes, each class has minimum age requirements listed in the course description. Participants younger than 18 years must be accompanied by an adult enrolled in the class for difficulty levels easy, moderate & expert. The supervising adult must be willing to sign a disclosure accepting responsibility for minor for the duration of the visit. This adult will be able to sign off up to a maximum of 3 minors
Do you have group rates?
We do not; however, we do host private parties. Please email events@carlosbakery.com for more information!

Carlo’s Bakery reserves the right to cancel classes a minimum of one week prior to the class date; if cancelled, all monies will be refunded automatically.
What happens if my class is cancelled?
Carlo's Bakery reserves the right to cancel any classes that do not meet the required minimum guest count of 10 participants or more. Only if the class is canceled, will the registered participants have the option to attend another scheduled class or receive a full refund.
What is the cancellation policy if I pre-order but I cannot make it in to pickup?
All sales are final and cannot be changed as Carlo’s Bakery prepares orders as received. ORDERS MUST BE PICKED UP AT THE STORE THE ORDER WAS PLACED. Orders are available for pick up any time after the scheduled pick up time. If you arrive early, you may have to wait for your order to be ready. Please be aware that orders not picked up will have to be disposed at the end of the day as baked goods are highly perishable.
Do you deliver?
At this time, Carlo’s Bakery is not offering delivery via the Grab & Go online service. A future announcement will be made when delivery service will be made available via Grab & Go online. Delivery service is reserved for special consultation orders only. You can make an inquiry about special custom deliveries by calling our consultation dept at (201) 448-8400.
If I pre-order and I arrive at the bakery but there is a long line outside, do I get priority access into store or do I have to wait on line?
Pre-ordering items allows for priority access to the bakery to retrieve the order. Upon arrival, please proceed directly to the register and show a copy of your order confirmation email to a team member.
If I have family members with me, will they also receive priority access?
In the event the bakery is crowded, we recommend only one person make the pick up.
What if I need to add items to my order when I arrive to pickup? Do I need to wait on line again?
You will not need to wait on the line; please just inform the team member at the register and they will be happy to help you.
Where do I pick up my Grab & Go order in the store?
The designated area will be indicated by a hanging sign above the register area.
What are the acceptable forms of payment for Carlo’s Bakery Grab & Go?
We accept MasterCard, VISA, Discovery and American Express cards. In the event you experience trouble processing your payment, please contact your card provider directly.
How will I know my order has successfully been placed?
Upon completion of your order, you will be redirected to the order confirmation page that confirms your order. You will separately receive a confirmation email from Carlo’s Bakery. If you do not see this email, Please check your JUNK or SPAM box for this message before contacting the bakery or placing your order again.
I have allergies. How will I know which items are safe to order?

What if I want to change the time to pick up my order?
There are no returns, refunds, modifications, or cancellations. Once an order is placed it cannot be changed. However, if you must change your pick up time, please contact the store that you made the order to directly as soon as possible and we will try to accomodate you within reason.
I'm not finding exactly what I'm looking for on the website, how can I go about placing a custom order?
Select a Carlo’s Bakery location nearest to you either call or visit to speak with a team member about your needs. We're more than happy to talk you through your options and help you make the best selection for you.

What should I present a team member with to verify my order when I come to pick up?

When do I pay for my orders?
Grab & Go orders are paid for in full when you confirm payment through our service online. Orders are not processed until online payment has been completed.
How do I use promo codes for Grab & Go?
Only Promo codes specific to Grab & Go can be used at checkout, once you have completed choosing your order and before you make a payment. Before you can use a promo, please check if it is still valid and not expired.
Grab & Go doesn't let me select a pick up time for today. What if I need to order something today?
Most items for Grab & Go are available for pick up in 24 hours. But custom cakes may take at least 48-72 hours to prepare, depending on the type of cake. If you need any cakes or items the day of, our stores are well-stocked with fresh baked goods and cakes for walk in orders.
Do your products contain nuts?
Carlo’s Bakery is not a nut-free environment, so we suggest that anyone with any kind of allergy refrains from consuming our products. Even if a product does not contain nuts, there is always the possibility of cross-contamination.
Are you a gluten-free environment?
Carlo’s Bakery does not yet specialize in recipes for gluten-free products.
I'm planning a trip to one of the bakeries. Can I meet Buddy?
As much we would love to guarantee Buddy's presence during the time of your visit, we cannot do so, as his personal schedule revolves around his filming schedule with TLC.

If his filming schedule permits, he spends as much time in the bakeries as possible. You are more than welcome to ask if he or any of the other cast members of Cake Boss are present upon arrival!
Can I get an autographed image of Buddy?
